About
Jenny-wren is a British Impressionist artist and printmaker working from her home studio @birdsong_gallery in the Essex countryside, creating original abstract landscape, mindscape paintings and handmade prints using a unique mixture of acrylic metal leaf, water colour pigment and found materials.
Her work has depth and ambiguity, recollection of time and place with atmospheric effect due to the time of day viewing light refraction. My paintings investigate how places exist in the imagination, transformed and fragmented through recollection of time and place. My images emerge through layers of translation from lived experience and in photographs to memories to paint in abstract landscapes with echoes from birds like music in the morning.
